Laptop power adapter - Dell brick to Lenovo laptop adapter?

    I've got a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop that has a 19.5v 4.62a brick

I also have a Lenovo Thinkpad Helix laptop which uses the newer rectangular slim tip plug 20v 2.25a.

Both have the same polarity and half a volt shouldn't make any practical difference, and they're both insanely popular machines, so I thought ebay would have loads of adaptors to allow me to use the Dell brick with the Lenovo laptop. But I can't find a single one.

Does anyone know of an adapter that'll allow me to do this?

    Thanks.

Re: Laptop power adapter - Dell brick to Lenovo laptop adapter?

no, I've never seen adaptors, closest thing I've seen are non-brand (ie a brand other than a laptop brand) multi system adaptors, which come with a range of changeable heads and variable voltage.
eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intocircuit-.../dp/B009M5K6GC please note I'm not suggesting that one, just an example.

Not seen a square connector like that before, it could well be a custom connector Lenovo has come up with
In theory you could make an adaptor, that dell one is a standard fitting (HP also use them) however if that Lenovo one is a custom connector then getting hold of one could be tricky.

Re: Laptop power adapter - Dell brick to Lenovo laptop adapter?

Thanks yes it's a Lenovo custom connector that they've been using for the last year or two, and doesn't appear to be included in any of the generic tip packs you get with multi brand connectors.

Looks like I may need to carry two bricks as well as two laptops
