Need OCing AMD help!

Ok, I got my new ram today, XMS Pro 3700... And I decided to see how far my CPU would go! Well it wont go beond 220 FSB Any ideas? Please post cause this is very depressing! My bios setings are below.

Drop HTT multi to 4x or even 3x (doesn't make much diff from my testing)
set AGP to 67.
Add some more voltage to the mem, give it the full 2.85v.
Increase AGP voltage to 1.6

the ram is at stock 3-4-4-8 and I dont know what volts its rated at as stock perhaps it needs more?

But if your upping the FSB then it maybe that the 3700 requires 2.7v+ to run at 233 speeds.

Plus 5x may be pushing the HTT to far

Well droping the HT did it! its down to 4X, but my PC doesnt feel any faster... Well my proc is at 2.5GHz but I think I upped the volts too far... Or is that ok?

Drop the VCORE a bit and raise the VDIMM up full. Also you can run your HTT up to 250 with a 4X LDT. No need to drop to 3X unless you are running over 250MHz.

When I drop the VCORE I get BSD's when windows loads... And shouldnt the ram only need 2.6 since its 3700 and its not being OC'ed?

Not necessarily. Different memory performs differently from one platform to the next, and even from one CPU to te next. Also, Corsair XMS PRO loves volts! It needs the extra juice to run the Christmas lights.

Yea, my cpu is at 2.475 with the VCORE ranging from 1.57 - 1.64.. I never knew it veried like that! Kinda scary... And my ram is at 450MHz, and I still am using the stock cooler!

check your temps - upping the vcore can really have an effect on your temps. egmine shot up from about 30 degrees C to 60 degrees when i overclocked - that was before water tho, now its 27

My temp sensore is screwed up big time! I will never trust it agin! One min I'm at -130C the next its at 250C But the heatsink does feel very hot...

I had a similar problem with the K8N Neo Plat and a CG stepping clawhammer chiip. Temps would read higher than expected, a BIOS update solved the problem. I suspect you may have a similar problem, is that a Winchester core?

My CPU hits 65C when playing CS:source And 45C idel... Now if this was a P4 I wouldnt be so freaked but 65C on a AMD? How bad is this?

Simple, don't overclock. You need much better cooling to cope with the heat from your CPU. AMD's die at roughly 80°C, keep it in the 50's and you'll have no bother at all.
