Just returned from a week away for Xmas, to find my pooter playing silly buggers. Worked fine before, but now after having been on for about a minute or two it just switches off! All fans inside stop, although the LEDs at the front of the case stay on. To get it up and running again requires disconnecting and reconnecting power cord, then powering up.
Computer -
MB: Abit NF7S v2.0
RAM: Crucial 512MB PC3200 DDR
CPU: Mobile Athlon XP 1600+ (Running at 3400+ bwahahaha!) with Alpha 8045
HDD 1: 120GB Deathstar 60GXP
HDD 2: Seagate Barracuda V 60GB
Radeon 9700 Pro, DVD/RW, and the killer bit:
Q-Tec 400W quiet PSU (Thought you'd like that )
Now, I checked al the voltages being thrown out by the PSU using hardware doctor and everything is well within limits, and there's no dust cluttering the inside and all fans are fanning.
Any suggestions as to the problem? Please don't let this become a flaming Q-Tec thread.... if it is a new PSU, any good bargains out there for a quality brand at the mo?
