Question Advice on a Colour Multifunction Laser Printer

Will be for light home use - the odd documents and for teaching materials etc. I'm hoping to not spend above £200, which I know means I'll probably get something entry level, judging from skimming over the various offerings.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Same question was asked here, have a look.

My personal favourite right now is this...

HP Laserjet Pro M476nw for £268.50 delivered, then claim £80 cashback and a free 3 years on-site replacement warranty from HP
There is also a slightly more expensive M476dn variant, which lacks Wifi connectivity, but does duplex printing/scanning/copying.

    toner cartridges:
    - XL black is up to 4,400 pages @ 5% coverage
    - standard size black is 2,400 pages
    - cyan/magenta/yellow are 2,700 pages each

generic/refurb XL black toner cartridge from £14 delivered
set of generic standard capacity CMYK toner cartridges for £45 delivered

Notice: The offer expires 31st of October, also HP may quite possibly extend it yet again. You have 30 days from invoice date to submit a claim for the cashback & warranty extension

I was looking at the same one myself, and was going to post it in the hukd thread. I just hope I can find space for it.

It seems to be cheaper on HP store with a 10% promo code. However I think that the cashback offer won't be able to be used in conjunction with any discount codes. I'll give HP a buzz to confirm before ordering.

    Once again, Thanks!

Do you have a link please? Looks to me like the M477 has replaced it in the HP web shop.

I have had clients combine e-voucher codes for the HP web shop with cashback and warranty promotions before, so you should be fine. What you usually can't do is combine multiple cashback promotions with one another.

You might want to add this to the short list

    http://www.printerbase.co.uk/acatalo...p-printer.php?

I haven't looked at the cost of consumables, but bear in mind that over the lifetime of the printer, they can be a major part of the cost of ownership.

    Or this

    http://www.printerbase.co.uk/acatalo...dw-printer.php

I have an earlier monochrome version and it has been very good.

While I can see it via your link, I still can not find it when searching the UK web shop.

Cashback promotions are limited to UK stock, the one you linked to has the word Europe in the name. I recommend calling them again, just to make sure that it is in fact eligible. Especially since it doesn't mention the cashback promotion next to the price, unlike some of the other models in the web shop do.

Generic toners for the Xerox 6027 are slightly more expensive than the ones for the HP, but contain less toner.

    - standard size black is 2,000 pages
    - cyan/magenta/yellow are 1,000 pages each

set of generic standard capacity CMYK toner cartridges for £58 delivered

    G
eneric toners for the Brother DCP-9020CDW are cheaper than those for the HP and Xerox and larger in capacity than the Xerox ones.

    - standard size black is 2,500 pages
    - cyan/magenta/yellow are 2,000 pages each

set of generic standard capacity CMYK toner cartridges for £37 delivered

The HP M476nw, with its larger cartridges and extended warranty, looks on paper like the better option

    - XL black is up to 4,400 pages @ 5% coverage
    - standard size black is 2,400 pages
    - cyan/magenta/yellow are 2,700 pages each

generic/refurb XL black toner cartridge from £14 delivered
set of generic standard capacity CMYK toner cartridges for £45 delivered

To completely confuse you, did you see this...

HP Officejet Pro 8620 inkjet printer for £129.99 delivered
then claim £60 cashback + free 3 years on-site replacement warranty?

    - XL black ink is up to 2,300 pages @ 5% coverage
    - XL cyan/magenta/yellow inks are 1,500 pages each

set of genuine HP XL pigment ink cartridges for £51 delivered
sets of generic XL inks can be had for as little as £15 delivered, but the quality of that ink is anyone's guess
