Recommend a pair of ear buds/headphones

Ok, I have been using a set of Sony ear buds.. They just died today! So, I need a new pair! I need them for late night gaming and music... If it has a mic its considered a bonus! But to be homiest I'm not a cheap person so give me the good stuff! I have a budget of lets say $75 US... Any ideas? Cause I'm clueless when it comes to audio...

    Many thanks!

    myth

Edit: This is what I had, sounded great!

    How about these? Any good?

I have a pair of those Sonys too, excellent things. Id get another pair if you like compact 'phones.

Nothing beats a nice chunky pair of Sennheiser cans tho

I seen a few Sennheisers, are they really that good? Cause I can get the ones listed above for only $65 while I'll pay 90 for the Sennheiser...

Can't comment on the Plantronics as I never heard them, but Im on my 3rd set of Sennys (openbacked, closedback & wireless) and they have all been brilliant. The closedback ones are nearing their 7th year and still sound/look as good as when I bought them.

Kez if your after buds: http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/CatalogueItem_10135.html

Oh sorry myth i forgot to say. I've got a pair of the DSP-500's Great sound quality but only one thing. The ear things don't fit around your ear, just on them. People find this really weird but it doesn't bother me. The mic quality on it is absolutely superb and the driver install is fine. The great thing is, you can plug them in and it'll change the sound output to the headset and unplug them and it changes it to the speakers (bear in mind they're USB)

Yup, they have a built-in digital sound card so no you won't be able to use your Audigy 2 ZS and EAX would be an in-built feature on these headphones The bass is damn good imo but i haven't really been able to compare them to any other headset

I love those EX series, i still have a pair of the original EX-70s (The original canalphone) and they still work, which is surprising as my other sony earphones have been replaced nearly a dozen times. I'd normally be btohered about that, but sony's guarantee means i get a free pair everytime so i've only ever had to pay for one set

EDIT: Actually, anyone know the cheapest place to get EX-71s ?

I really don't see what's so special about the Sony EX-71s. I've got a pair, but my old pair of Koss plugs sounded far superior and cost half as much. The Koss ones were incredibly fugly and unhygenic though.

If you can afford it, then Shure make some lovely earbuds.
