Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
What case is that? is that 190mm case width or 190mm cooler clearance?
You've got 92mm fan based tower cooler like the CM tx3 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coole...m3plus-am3-am2 cheap, better than stock coolers but can get a bit noisy when the cpu is under heavy load, bigger than stock coolers without being overly large.
Depending on the case sometimes a 120rad based all-in-one cooler can be a good idea, because they don't take up much space on the motherboard itself, but you do have the space issue of rad and hoses.
Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
It depends on what you are after...
Water or Air....?

Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
Generally speaking, most ITX cases now have room for a 240mm Rad, there are some exceptions. You could fit a H100 or similar in there.
From experience, the Prolimatech low profile coolers are some of the best I've used with a good fan to draw the hot air away, but they do take up a bit of room, so depending on the CPU socket location on the motherboard, you might have clearance issues with the GPU/ IO/ RAM.

i always use noctua coolers normally, expensive but worth the cost

Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
Hope it goes ok for you, one potential issue with those large low profile coolers on an ITX board is that they take up a lot of space on the board.
While it's less of an issue on a mATX or ATX board on an ITX the ram slots and pci-e slot can be very close to the cpu socket, so a cooler that over hangs can cause issues.
It's one of the reasons that an All-in-one cooler can sometimes be good in an itx case.
All the scythe cooler I've used in the past have been good :) and you can always replace that slim fan with a better standard 25mm thick 120mm fan, the extra 12.5mm height isn't generally an issue.
What motherboard are you using btw? there isn't a great range of amd itx boards :( shame as the amd apu\'s are an ideal fit for itx.
Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
It fits perfectly! Awesome fan and heatsink. I could change the fan i guess but lost to which one? I set bios to \'silent\' and it is now silent!
Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
Noctua coolers are awesome! u could also take a look at the Cythe mugen 4. these fans have a stock 120RPM and are dam quiet and not expensive for what they deliver
Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
I can highly recommend the noctua DH15s.

That's an awesome cooler - although it probably won't fit in a mini-ITX case like the OP wants :P Noctua all the way, they also have low profile coolers too!
Re: Quiet CPU cooler needed
If you're looking to swap out the fan, honestly the only reason to do so would be the colour of it, Noctua fans are renowned for their silence and performance. They also recently released accessories such as different colour silicone dampeners for the corners etc.
