Any alternative to logitech mice?
So I've had a Logitech mx518, g400s, g500 and probably another similar one. Logitech's current range doesn't look like very good, they don't look quite like the ones I've had before. Are there any other wired mice that have a very similar shape to the mx518 / g400s / g500?
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Just to dump a few articles that might help:

Can't give a personal opinion because I tend to keep it simple and use regular mice instead of gaming mice.

Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
I had a Logitech MX510 before moving to a MX518 but after a while fancied something different so I bought a Roccat Kone+ while it was on offer at OCUK for the excellent price of £19.99. I was a bit dubious at first having only used Logitech keyboards and mice for several years but it is a very good mouse. I have had it for around 18 months now and it has been solid all this time. It's dpi is adjustable up to 6000 but I mainly use it around 3000-4000 dpi which is more than enough for the games I play. It has a built in led on both sides of the upper surface and they can be changed to several different colours or off if you prefer by using the software that comes with it.

Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Its difficult to tell how big they are, although I moved from an old MX wireless to the Kone XTD and its great, very similar but slightly more comfy shape and a decent size rather than the poky little things a lot of makes use.
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
I've had a lot of mice in my gaming life all Logitech, the G5, G9, G9x and at one point a Logitech Wireless Performance MX.
I've now got a Razer Deathadder and can safely say it's the best of the lot. Pop to PC World and have a play with a few, see what you like in your hand.
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Thanks guys. Got a few options on my shortlist
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
I use a deathadder as my work mouse. Completely forgot about it. It is a great mouse although I am not a fan of the texture on the top for cleaning.
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Razer Deathadder 2013/Classic/Chroma are all great. No mouse prediction/smoothing, excellent tracking, and good ergonomics. I owned the 2013, and when I had to RMA it (fault in the scroll wheel), they sent me a Chroma as a replacement! The "Classic" is exactly like the the 2013, except with a blue LED. If you can find one, the 2013 is the best value out of the three. However, if they had offered a refund instead of the Chroma, I would have gone with the Logitech G502 as that seems to be all that the Deathadder is, plus a little more, in terms of buttons and features.

Anything with an S at the end is basically the same size/shape as the previous non-S ones, just with a new paint scheme and some improved functionality.
See G700 vs G700S, for example.
That one's a very good mouse, by the way - Wireless capability, but can be used wired if you prefer (which I do). £40-odd on Amazon right now, apparently.

Interesting...I assumed wireless=wireless, not wireless capability with optional wired.

It uses the charging cable for the data, so you charge it while playing. Very cool, huh!
Dunno why they don't all do it that way.
Some complain because the cable is plastic-sleeved and not braided, which is stiffer but I've not found it to be a problem.
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Try something from Corsair, Redragon, SteelSeeries or something more expensive from Razer or Asus.

Deal gone, lasted about a day IIRC. Other members on HUK did state it does come on via other sellers on Amazon as well as direct from them.

Cable not an issue for me either, like the moulding on end of cable which enter mouse; creating zero room for movement from use with it at that point, hence no chance of port being damaged that way.

Only started using mine yesterday, never had a "gaming" mouse before and quite liking it so far. Even the software worked without a hitch. You can have onboard profiles in the mouse memory or opt for some on your PC, liked how it can get premade profiles for games besides user configuring. It didn't have one for my test game last night, Battlefront. Once the profile was setup, it was automatically applied to game and on exit reverted to default one for windows use.
Dunno if a Hexus staff member would wanna view a TweakTown review but found the inside the G700S page good to read on tech info.

But you can also just use a normal, non-moulded USB cable if you somehow lose this one... or don't happen to have it with you... or whatever other reason.
Just one more cool feature!
Re: Any alternative to logitech mice?
Agree :) , nice it's only 1 AA as well, I can't see myself ever not having recharged it, but no great pain to stick a normal battery in if required. TBH got plenty of rechargeable AAs, which only take 15mins to recharge on dedicated recharger.
