    Minor issues with new computer...?

    Apologies for another thread about me and my new computer (SN41G2 V2). Anyway, I've managed to build the thing and load Windows and driver, apparently without incident...

    I do have a couple of queries though:

    1. What is the fn41si0n.bin file (something to do with the bios) and what do I do with it?

    2. My CPU is supposed to be an Athlon XP2400+. System Properties shows it as a XP1800+ running at 1.49ghz. Is this right?

    3. Sys Props also shows my 512meg RAM as 480mb.

    4. On boot up, I get a line stating the memory is runninf at 333mhz. I have DDR 400. Is this right?

    It really would be great if you could help me with some of these issues. Thanks in advance.

    1) is a bios update for flashing to that version. Keep it somewhere safe at present.

    2) make sure that the multiplier and fsb are set to the correct levels. I cannot remember what these are at present but you may find the fsb is at 133 and it should be 166.

    3) the missing ram is being used for your onboard graphics.

    4) The ram is running at probably the default speed. Don't worry about this as if it was at 400 mhz, you would have overclocked the system. You can try that later

    Don't forget we have a small form factor, ie shutttle, subforum!

    ddr333=pc2700=333mhz=166mhz fsb
    ddr500=pc4000=500mhz=250mhz fsb!

    Cheers for the help guys. Over the last few nights I ve been playing around with the settings a bit. I won't let me run at 166mhz - I presume this is a security setting, however at 133mhz the cpu registers as a 2400+ - which is what it is. This does mean that the RAM is running at 266mhz: is there any way to safely (and easily) nudge this up?

    One other thing. I tried real hard not to set up a network (wifi connection to my router) but at some point Windows created a Shared Documents directory and asks me to log in on startup. Is there any way to reverse this?

    Thanks for all your help!
