    64 upgrade question

would my current psu 450watt CWT
and my current RAM 2x256 Corsair XMS3500 rev1.1

    be ok with a :
    AMD 64 3000 (939)

i've been told i'll need TDDC ram or something like that.

I see no reson why not.
RAM with TCCD chips is supposed to work really well athlon64's or something., but you don't NEED it.

People are thinking far too much about ram. I wonder how much difference it would acctually make to use pc2700 ram instead.. for the money, there are much better things to upgrade..

I would however say get more ram. 512mb is not really enough to play farcry or any other recent game without having bad stuttering. Im getting bad stuttering in vampire the masquade: bloodlines (based on source engine) so I may be getting more ram if a new gfx card dont sort it.

Well if i got that i'd sell that ram to cover most the cost of upgrade.

then upgrade current ram when i got chance.

The MSI Neo2 (especially with Winchester core CPUs) really likes most TCCD sticks. That's not the case with all A64 motherboards but the ASUS A8N-SLI likes it as well. Try your RAM. It should work well but you'll have to play with it.
