Although that was hot a few months ago people are now used to HT and 800FSB technology. They've also been used to 80GB+ and 512MB+ for quite some time, those are things that will seriously affect the PC's value in the eyes of a buyer. The gfx card is THE most vital part for anyone looking to game so you should mention that too.
Any techie here can build a brand new XP2500+ (o/c to XP3200+), top-of-the-range nForce2 ultra400, 512MB PC3200, 120GB 7200-8, Rad9600PRO 128MB, 19" CRT, DVD+CDRW and all the usual trimmings for under £700 brand new.
hi all, i know that you could build one but am tryin to convince a m8 not to buy prebuilt as that system is goin to cost him £800!!! thanx for the replys might help convince him a bit more
wheres he buying prebuilt?
I've built my pc over the last 3 months, andw hilst I would say I am fairly/extremely techie, I ahve to admit its been a nightmare: dodgy (expensive!) RAM, faulty motherboard, non existant drivers...
its not always nice, especially if hes not a techie

:/ i wouldnt reccomend them, he would be better off going to a local PC shop or better still, online (see bargin hunt section) non-specialist shops do tend to rip ppl off, and the parts used may not always be top quality. also the staff at the shops are not always as tech savvy as they might like to think, a proper computer shop would be a better choice
If you were buying any pre-built id have to vouch for mesh, 3/4 family members have bought of them and have had no problems with them at all and you get your moneys worth.Originally posted by dadofsam

But then again i would rather build my own, as you can have exactly what you want rather than settling with pre-built and paying extra to upgrade to better things.
