2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
Does anyont have any? After trying to spend ages tracking down the last few dB in noise out of the computer, turns out it was hum from the speaker transformer.
So I'm on the hunt for something to replace them. 2.1 probably due to space considerations. I know a pair of active monitors is the standard reccomendation, but unfortunately size is quite limiting in terms of what will actually fit on the desk, and if they're wall mounted I wouldn't be able to reach the controls.
Not really fussed about hifi quality sound, as they're really only for background music, youtube etc. All my gaming is on headphones.

What sort of price range are you looking at?
Re: 2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
Anything sensible really - I'd hope £50-£100 should do, preference toward the lower end since I just ordered a vive ;)
Re: 2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
Have you considered a soundbar? I am thinking of getting one to fit under my monitor as space means i cannot find either side of it.
Trying to find one less than 3 inches high.

Creative T20s get my vote. £60 on Amazon. Or they have the T10s for £30, which still have pretty reasonable sound...

2nd hand NAD, Creek, 2020, etc amp, and pair of Wharfdale Diamonds off ebay.
No Contest !
Re: 2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
I get the impression space is an issue...

Agreed G8ina, however its not really the amp space I've got an issue with, its the speakers. I'd rather not wall mount if possible (the mrs is already going nuts about having the lighthouses for the rift up) so 2.1 would be better, not withstanding the sound quality issues.
That amp does look good to replace a rather aging one I have in the kitchen though

If space is an issue, might you have trouble finding room for the subwoofer in a 2.1 system? The Topping amp is a great solution if you have a pair of passive speakers you want to use. Before I sold it to Zak33, I was using the Topping amp with a small pair of hifi speakers.

Flat Speakers NxT system ?? Stick a picture on em, wife will think they are just picture frames.
Re: 2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
creative T40s. Awesome sound, small enough package that they sit nicely on my desk, and the bass is good enough without the hassle of a subwoofer.
I have the series I version, but I see they have now released a series II. Hopefully they have not messed around with them as the series I are really good.

Subwoofer is no issue, nor would an amp be, its above the desk space I'm short on (21:9 monitor, normal monitor + laptop don\'t make for a lot of spare space.

How about a set of Corsair SP2500 speakers
Re: 2/2.1 Channel Speaker Reccomendations
A pair of Harman Kardon soundsticks should suffice. I picked mine up for 100 new from PC world. Great sound and very reasonably priced.

I agree with the soundsticks, bought myself a pair over Christmas when they were on sale, great sound and look good.
