Unhappy What's happening with my computer ? O_o [My PC becomes a jet engine!]

Hello,

I'm new to this forum so if I have posted into wrong section please move it to the right one

So this is my rig:

Biostar TA970 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
XFX ProSeries 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
2x Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory
MSI Radeon R7 240 2GB Video Card will replacing it with AMD Radeon HD 7870 GDDR5 2GB when I fix this problem.
BitFenix Comrade ATX Mid Tower Case

So the problem with my pc is that it sounds like a jet engine/server when it's under heavy load when I play various games to the point where the computer vibrates through floor to the room underneath. My dad got waken up by it's noise yesterday when he was sleeping at night. It was damn loud, like a road work & drilling !

When I was playing some games yesterday, I also have heard twice some popping sound like when you put popcorn in the microwave to make it ready to eat or when some plastic brakes, however it wasn't that loud and computer didn't turned off or anything.

Here's something interesting tho, and I don't know if that makes any difference but I previously had my PC on the carpet but couple of days ago when this problem start occurring I have put some piece of wood underneath the PC and still nothing have changed.

Also both my side panels are bentable as hell since I often take them on/off so you can literally grab them and bent it a bit also it's annoying since it's harder to put them back. However, when I had taken side panel off, my pc suddenly became soo much quieter and it vibrates/makes less noises through floor to the room underneath. Tho, I can't have my side panel off for obvious reasons and one of them are my cats.

Also I don't have any fans in my PC since they are all loud as hell and I have noticed that the CPU Fan under heavy load is making this noises (culprit?) and when I put the side panel on again, the freaking computer becomes a jet engine again. O_o

I think that the problem is with the computer case and CPU cooling. I was thinking about buying aftermarket cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo which is often recommended but I won't be overclocking anything and my budget is a little bit tight, so I was thinking about getting Cooler Master TX3 since I have a small budget and can't spend more than £20.

Tho, I have only played GTA IV as I didn't played anything else and done some tests for around 2 hours and it looks like the temperatures are how they should be so nothing abnormal:

IDLE:

Under Heavy Load while playing GTA IV:

So what do you guys think I should do to resolve my issue with my PC ?

P.S Why I can't change any settings or edit my profile ?

Cheers

The older version of the stock cooler which came with the FX6300 is pretty noisy under load,so I would look at replacing that. Plus also at least have an exhaust fan in your system as it means the heat is not being expelled from the case, and it will cause both the CPU and GPU fans to ramp up.

I have built this rig around at the beginning of 2015 so I don't think so that I might have older version of the cooler.
Tho, which aftermarket cooler would you recommend for me ?

I've got an Raikintek Aidos cooling my i5-6600k, is cheaper than the 212 Evo you were looking at and is a touch cooler as-well.

Here is a review with it compared with the 212 Evo and many others.

And here are some options for buying.

£16.99 @ eBay
£17.73 @ Amazon

I can only hear the fans in my build at night with nothing on but I have got a sound deadening case.

More or less anything would be better than stock - even something like an arctic freezer 7.
That being said, I ran the stock fan on an FX6300 for a while, and it really wasn't wake people in the next room loud. You sure you've not knocked a wire thats trailing into a fan blade?

Also the popping noise can apparently be the case adjusting to different temperatures inside and out, seems to be more common with plastic cases, I don't know if that fits yours though.

Having another read through your post, it does seem more likely that the issue is case related, although I don't see your CPU temps as reliable and I do not believe a 13C idle unless something is wrong with your fan and it is running at 100%.

Id also give the inside a good cleaning, noise by cpu fan can often be caused by the heatsink getting clogged with dust, and so the fan works much harder to keep cool.

First thing to do is open it up and have a poke around, clean any filters, blow out any fans, check for any obstructions, problem is clearly with hardware so that's always the first thing you check is the physical state of your hardware.

Well, the thing is, I want a cheap aftercooling which doesn't make a lot of noise and will that Raikintek Aidos fit in my PC/Motherboard ?

No, I'm not since I have opened my PC Case yesterday and it's still open, I have checked the CPU and it appeared that none of the wires are trailing into the fan blade.

Yep, I need to first order compressed air to do that.

No, just use a brush.

I'm not sure if they have changed the FX-6300 over to the new cooler yet, but they only did it for the 6350 in April this year, so one bought in 2015 certainly has the old cooler.

IIRC the old FX-6300 cooler is a traditional design using a standard 60mm or 80mm fan so you can just unscrew that and take it off to clean it, or replace it rather than the whole cooler if it's damaged or faulty.

It sounds like you've got something resonating rather than a fault as such. Try putting a blanket or similar between the case and the piece of wood (or removing it again if that's an option).

Do you mean to remove that piece of wood I have now and put the PC back on the floor ? My floor already has a carpet and it doesn't change anything either if I have my PC on the carpet or on piece of wood.

PC on plain carpet could end up having an excellent vibration and noise insulation.

I had several older PCs just like that (utilising Phenon hexa-cores) and all were using box coolers. I can't recall any of them exceedingly loud or 'vibrant' (derived from vibration).

I have change the topic to resolved since I have resolved the issue, when I have applied the Raijintek Aidos it appeared that the thermal compound was dry as hell, weirdly enough I had applied it only a year ago ....

Thank You all for the contribution here.
