Exclamation help! BIOS update has killed my abit mobo

Updated my BIOS using the abit flashmenu, and clicking on the one click update. When my pc rebooted, windows failed to load and not its all gone pear shaped

It keeps detecting my cpu as 1100 mhz and when i go into the bios and select 2500+ it jus beeps upon rebooting, so i have to clear the CMOS. Also tried removing the battery for a bit to see if that helped. Sometimes it works and boots at 2500+, but then i select for it to boot off a cdrom to reinstall windows, and it jus beeps again when its saves to the bios

    http://www.abit-usa.com/downloads/bi...es=1&model=124

it flashed to the latest bios here. I tried reflashing the bios to NF7/NF7-S V2.0 BIOS 17 but i still get the same problem.

I have also noticed this page of BIOS updates and now i'm confused about which one to use

    http://fae.abit.com.tw/eng/download/bios/nf7-s2.htm

If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated!

PS. at a pc in uni so might be slowing replying, thanks!!!

Sorry to post with more questions and not an answer, but can you clarify a couple of things:

What revision of the the NF7-S do you have - rev 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0?
What BIOS did you try to install - from what you say above, was it BIOS 27? (Different BIOS files are required for the rev 1.1x and 2.0)

To answer one of your questions, the NF7-S2 is a different board.

Have you already tried loading failsafe defaults, save & reset, then go back into BIOS and change to 2500+?

Use a previous BIOS. I had a simlar issue where my system wouldnt run the CPU at its full speed as its "unworkable".

If it says unworkable, its a known issue dont worry
Make sure you flash with the correct BIOS though, otherwise you'll be asking me to reflash it

I have the Abit NF7-S 2.0 and the liveupdate / flashmenu gizmo has just installed BIOS revision 27 onto it which is the newer SATA BIOS and a few updates to the micro code.

    I would SERIOUSLY consider upgrading to the lastest revision as there is A huge list of fixes and patches that are important - the most being the following ;

Added auto shutdown function while CCMOS jumper is placed at PIN 2-3. The correct setting is placed at PIN 1-2; the CPU core voltage will be abnormally high if placed at PIN 2-3, system will shut down automatically to protect CPU from damage.

Fixed the issue that SATA HDD boot up fail without PS/2 Mouse.

Fixed the issue that PS/2 wheel mouse is no response under limited condition:
    - Use certain PS/2 wheel mouse and certain USB keyboard.
    - PS/2 wheel mouse works fine but lose response on 1st, 3rd, 5th.... restarting windows. Nevertheless, it works fine on 2nd, 4th....
    restarting windows.
    - For "PS/2 wheel mouse + PS/2 keyboard" and" USB wheel mouse + USB keyboard ", no problem at all.

    Updated SATA ROM V4.2.5.0.

    Supports AMD Sempron CPUs
As you can see there has been some major updates and thats only a snippet of what they have updated on the bios.

    Hope this information helps
