    quiet hard drives...

    is this quiet or just 'ok'...?maxtor hdd
    looks ok cause its on off at komplett but not sure if its quiet or 'really' quiet. don't want a drive tahts sounds like a grinding axe!

    ive had em before and they seem quiet, mine developed a bit more of a noise after about a month tho, got 2 samsungs now, and they're fantastic, almost inaudible (120gig is quieter than the 160 tho) seagates are good too but seem to make more noise than the samsungs when seeking.

    i got a 120gb maxtor and its starting to to get really scratchie noizes when sending info

    Seagate barracudas, i think, are the best drives for quietness.

    There was a time where i'd suggest Seagate, but the drives don't perform on par with Samsungs offerings and in tests ran by Anandtech (reputable) the Samsung was least audible and if i remember correctly a top performer.
