hi guys as you can see from the screen shot my amd 2500 is overclocked and windows reads it as a 3200! but i can't get the damn ram right! it won't let have the ram which is 3200 stuff run @ 200mhz which is 400, so i have to run it @ sync which is around 383.
if i change the FSB back to 166 i can get the ram to 200mhz which is the default speed,
just a stab in the dark have you tried dropping the mem timing down from Turbo
try these settings just had a look at mine a shutttle amd 2500 running at xp3200 2.2g
change system performance to optimal
change fsb frequency to 200mhz
change mem timimgs to auto
save changes and boot up and see what happens

no no change i can't up the fsb to 200 it won't boot
On Socket A, you want the RAM to be in sync with the FSB of the CPU - otherwise, it slows the computer down. Since the RAM is nearly running at 400DDR anyway, I would leave it how it is.

what ram are you using ?
Have you tried the NVIDIA System Utility?

Lets you change the fsb and RAM timings after you've booted up, so you can boot up with stock settings and overclock once it's up and running. That way you can check whether it will actually run like that and if it reboots then you're back at stock settings.
Normally I can't get my 2500+ as far as you've got yours, but just checking it with relaxed memory timings to see if it will work.
If you can't keep up, stick with reality...
yeah thats a good idea, i would like to do it in the bios as 400 is the default setting for 3200 ram, and is infact an underclock running at 388
Are you using the on board graphics?
Because my shuttle, at least, won't go to DDR 400 when you are using on board graphics see here
been looking around more about his as i have four shuttles all running at xp3200 speeds on xp2500 cpus and never had this problem on a few cased the cpu is just not up to it a lot more pinted towards the memory
what about a bios flash?
There is of course the chance that seeing as the 2500XP wasn't designed to run with an FSB of 200mhz your particular chip hasn't got the head room.
I know myself I have 2 of the damn things and I can't get either to run at 200mhz and I've had them in 3 different motherboards. One is unlocked and the other isn't and even in the NF7-S V2.0 which is pretty much the daddy of socket a boards it just will not run stable at 200mhz.
