Bluetooth mouse - recommends?

Hi,

well, I fancy a new mouse. I'm using a Logitech Mouseman dual sensor at home since my v1 intellimouse with intellieye died (loved that shape but with optical, so sad they don't make them any more).

I quite fancy a bluetooth one - got a USB and PCCard dongle, but I think the MS one comes with BT hardware for the computer?

Anyway, anyone have any good deals or good reasons to go for one mouse (don't want keyboard, got plenty already!) over another? £52 for the MS one seems....well, about right if it comes with the receiver, but £40 would be better. Are the logitech ones better? I've used a couple of logi mice and they are okay, but not great, in my opinion...

Are you sure you cant get the MS one for cheaper? Its over a year old, maybe even 2, so no idea why it costs that much. I thought it was £50 when it was released.

Also, are you sure you want bluetooth? Its not really any good, its not bad, but theres no reason to pay for it over the Logitech MX1000.

I wish MS would hurry up and release their answer to the MX1000, they lost the last battle to logitech by a long way, hope they fix it since i prefer MS's style usually

BT= easy, nothing to plug in (getting a machine with internal BT), not had a wireless before, but fed up with pulling the cord on the cable management hole...or getting it stuck inder a keyboard or something!

Is RF better?

Why go Bluetooth? You can't go wrong with an MX700/ MX1000, if you insisit on Bluetooth go for the MX900.

well its the most exact but it is not so simple, it has loads of buttons and mabe not the best shape for gaming. Its also wireless, although it has evolved to usb speed so mabe not that so much.

I've heard quite a lot of gamer/users say when you dont have interference (mobile phones, other receivers) and the receiver distance isnt huge that the MX1000 can keep up nicely with wired mice, despite the wireless. Some say it feels no different, just as fast.

Lift-off, reviews and users have mentioned that when you lift the mouse from the reading surface, there is a delay between the time you place the mouse back down and the moment the mouse starts tracking again. This may be a problem in some games, i know i lift-off on FPS games so it could be a big problem for some.

I have the mx1000 and can safely say there is no lag and tracking is very accurate. As for the "lift off" issue my mouse tracks fine when approximately 5mm off the mouse mat surface (using ratpadz gs)

Seasoned gamers shouldn't be lifting their mouse off the surface by more than that anyway Turn up the sensitivity!!

I brough an mx-1000, which refused to work at home, got it working at the office and my mums house but not mine, thought it could be the wireless network ??? personnaly I didn't like the layout of the mouse, so I gave it to my parents for an xmas present. I did notice a slight lag when you take the mouse off the surface, I did post a thread, but I lost the url now

But i think I may be the only 1 in the world who doesn't like the mouse, viva la resistance

ti4600 , my brother has one of those, i feel its really not keeping up with today's games. Looks particularly stupid against his other admittedly impressive components. Not sure whats going on there

Yes yes, im still puzzled as to why someone would pa so much for all the other components but bottleneck the system in such a way with an outdated card

3 reasons, why i have an old card

1) waiting to get more money
2) Waiting for pci-e geforoce ultras to come out and then sli them
3) waiting for the ultra x connect 550w psu to come out, i'm running cheap a 300w psu at the minute, running all that + 2 more Hd's, + DVD drives and a loads of fans etc...

Don't wat to kill my PC now, or I would cry, for a very long time
