and considering TFT's are now £135ish, can you not stretch your budget a little?

I'd go for a LG Flatron if i were to buy a CRT again, as i've just swapped my 4 year old one for TFT's (better for logistics) they are great monitors, never had a problem with mine.

That Viewsonic 19" is a good buy.

It has the high res and refresh rate, and the low dot pitch.
It's "shadow mask", as opposed to superior "apeture grill" which will never be within your budget.

Forget TFTs as your budget won't stretch to one even the same size as your current screen.

That Samsung is actually even better.

Avoid cheap rubbish like Maxdata Belinea or CTX by the way.

Just look around until you find a 21" CRT secondhand. I've spent the last year using a Cornerstone P1500 that cost me £80; it's not totally flat but believe me gaming on a 21" CRT > all. For £140 you're getting into the range where you could find a really pukka flat or close to flat 21" CRT with 2 or 3 years use on it.
