Hi all,
I'm considering buying a refurbished K70 RGB from scan for £80. Are refurbished keyboards closer to new ones or used ones? The new K70 costs around £150 rn so its a massive saving to go with the refurbished one.
Thanks

It's probably been refurbished due to repeating keys.....my brother had 2 refurb K70s and both ended up going back due to repeating keys again.
I also have a K70 and a K60 and both have the repeating key issue.
IMO, the problem is so bad that risking a refurb is probably too much of a gamble. Of course, YMMV!

I've got the Corsair K70 from Scan, refurbished.
It arrived in a different box, but other than that, it was spot on. All cables tidied up as you'd expect, brand new gaming keys.
Go for it mate!

The repeating key issues (and a couple of other reported niggles) are the very reason I didn't go for one of the Corsair refurbs, even with the very tempting price I preferred to pay a bit more for something more reliable.
if you do but from Scan and are looking to benefit from any HEXUS membership type things, please ensure no canned meat products are involved.
thanks muchly.

It's actually amazing. I had a membrane keyboard before and the K70 is so much more pleasant to type on.
I have a func kb460, love the thing but the wrist rest clip just came off in a recent move K70 is on my list of keyboards to look at to replace
Hi all, is the Corsair K70 really worth it? I can get one for $150 in the US.
Thanks.
I got mine refurbished for £80 ($104) and I absolutely love it. new ones in the UK were £150 which I though was too much to pay for a keyboard. Having gone up from a membrane to the MX-Red K70 I would never go back and would certainly recommend the K70. It feels very satisfying when typing; it's smooth and the clicky noise and feels are just amazing. The build quality is also very nice as it uses a metal backplate. The only thing I'd say could be improved is that the backplate could be more reflective so that the RGB lights appear brighter but that's personal preference I guess. If $150 feels like a lot to you to spend on a keyboard then don't get it since I'm pretty sure you will be able to find it for cheaper but if that's a price you can pay without putting a massive hole in your wallet then definitely go for it. I love it.

I had the same decision to make, go Brown. They are tactile, snappy and sound lovely (clicky but not too loud). You soon learn the perfect pressure for them as they "bump" before they bottom out. If you are coding you'll appreciate this. I probably spend 90-95% of my time writing code and I find it a million times better on MX Browns than Reds.
Edit: reds aren't "very" mushy for me, but without the feedback they aren't as good as the browns/blues for typing.

The Corsair Strafe RGB is an excellent keyboard if you're looking for other options. I think i paid about £100 for mine and replaced a horrible SteelSeries Apex keyboard.
I have a K65 RGB and the build quality is really good. Refurbished could mean a lot of things, it might've been just been a defective LED.
