best mouseing surface for logitech mx1000
as the title says what is the best surface for useing my mouse on theres so many aluminium and glass etc surfaces to choose from now but i dont know which one will be best
i occasionally get the mouse jumping up to top of screen which is annoyng plus the feet of the mouse make the desk dirty plus i would prefer it on a dedicated mouseing surface one that tracks well during games etc and looks good !!
i will also do the little tip i saw on these forums of useing teflon paper from a supermarket :)
ICEMAT OR fUnc 1030 Alienware
The only 2 worth mentioning. i use fUnc on my mx700 its ownage for gaming
Have you seen the latest granite mouse mats? They rock!
Hello
Done some experimenting me!
Mousemat material: Granite vs Glass
Granite
'Sperimenting with a Razer Diamondback and a very first edition MS optical jobbie, using granite as a mousing surface is just about perfect! I was hoping that the granite would be a bit more cooling to my frenetic, hot hands, but it just stays the cool side of warm. Very smooth, precise and quiet. The old MSmouse sounded a bit scratchy, but that's 'cos one of its rubber feet is missing.
Glass
Didn't work at all. Maybe the glass was too thick? Even holding something detailed right up against the glass still resulted in complete and utter mouse pointer movement failure.
I didn't test a gonadic mouse.
BTW I was thinking of going on Ebay and conning people with selling granite mousemats, but I'll come clean - they are granite placemats from a BHS clearance sale! The dimensions are 30cm x 21cm - just about the same size as some of the big glass mouse mats (you know, the ones that do work). They've got thin bits of rubber glued to each corner to stop slippage - also makes it a bit easier to lift off the desk, than if it was flat.
Cost £6 pack of 2. There were some left in Brighton BHS on the 4th April -none in Croydon. I think that the sales assistant in Brighton looked a little bit scared when I told him what I was going to use them for!
