As title really - i just noticed mine is dead
you can get rid of it and use a silent passive heatsink like the zalmann one (try kustompcs-will sell normal one too prob, or quietpc) makes a massive difference as the normal one whines like anything, if you get really really stuck pm me and i will try and dig out my old one for you ;)
Done some digging - it seems that the fan on ur mobo is an equivalent of a Vantec Iceberg. Whatever the case, would this do the trick: http://www.thecoolingshop.com/produc...roducts_id/907 ?

Just a side note but I bought the Iceberq 4 Pro ages ago before I bought my Artic Slencer and belive me it makes a lould whining noise due to it's high RPM, not sure if this would be the same but I'd be a bit wary :inquisiti
This happened to my NF7-S about a month after I got it. I ended up replacing it with the vantec iceburg, still working as far as I know. Only problem is you need to remove the motherboard from the case to take off the old fan and put on the new one.
I've got the Zalman NB heatsink on my NF7S. Fits easily and you really notice the difference in noise.
Thanks for the input guys, any chance of finding one on ebuyer? I can't find one there and I have an order already placed, I could add an item y'see ;)
That's a a bugger - shame I can't just replace the fan and part
Both fans on my NF7-S and my AN7 have gone.
Seems to be a recuring theme with Abit nF2 mobos - some of my mates have had the same problem.
Replaced one with an old P3 cooler hacksawed down with 2 holes drill so I could re-use the mounting off the original cooler (got a low speed fan on this cos I am pushing more V's through it than stock.)

i have one if you need it, dozerz at gmail dot com
Abit NB fans full stop. I've got an IC7-G here which did exactly the same; replaced the fan with a Zalman passive cooler. Abit will replace the fan for you, but you have to pay postage etc. In the end, the Zalman was less hassle.Quote:
