How much could I get for my computer?
Hi folks, looking to upgrade soon (that will be a new thread haha) and was looking at keeping my current gaming pc. However, in reality it wouldn't be used once a new one arrived so looking at selling it. Just curious how much I could expect for it?
Specs are:
Asus P8P67-M, Intel 2500k ,Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus PSU cooler, 8GB (2x4gb)Corsair XMS3, 256GB Crucial MX SSD and 500GB Samsung F3, Sapphire R280 , Oct ZT750W Modular PSU, Akasa Eclipse-32, Sony DVD-rw, Windows 10 Professional
Thanks for your help all.

Total back-of-fag-packet guess would be about £700-£800... Not really my area of specialty, though.
TBH, you'd be best off getting some rough prices off that well-known 2nd hand auction site and dialling the numbers down a touch (say 5-10%). That'd give you a realistic expectation of what these things go for second-hand and what you would be happy with as a minimum offer.
Then stick up for sale at a reasonable price, which gives some wiggle room - You might well come away happier than you'd think...
Just remember to specify whether this has any warranties on it, especially if it was a shop-built bundle of some kind, and/or otherwise explicitly state whether or not you'll take any responsibility for the thing if it blows up after the buyer gets it home!!
Re: How much could I get for my computer?
Honestly better to just keep your system - plonk in a new card and you will be fine. You are most likely to be GPU limited in most games I suspect!!
Perhaps by then Intel and AMD might have accumulated enough improvements to make it a big jump.

Half Decent system that just uprade the GFX card to say a GTX 1060 or a RX470 you should be okay at that but if your selling that then like you need to shop around and get second hand prices for each item the PC is made of then drop each price to make it more desirable on the open market....
Re: How much could I get for my computer?
I thought an upgrade would get a big boost. But if a new gpu is enough the new wife will be pleased. Any thoughts if I overclock the cpu that I would get a worthwhile speed-up?
Also, any guides on how best to do this and what I could expect to get? Thanks for your help folks.

If you overclock the country you might cause many people to wear out their shoes!! :p

Upgrading GPU and overclocking CPU will get you a decent boost. You have a similar rig to my 3570K build, so simply OCing will do quite nicely.
It's a popular chip and there are a shedload of OCing guides - Just look for 2500K easy overclock and start with that. Read several, read thoroughly, read several times and be sure you understand - Ask questions if you need to.
I'd expect you could get 4.5GHz on that quite easily.
If you want exact performance measures, run some free benchmarks before and after - Cinebench, 3Dmark, Unigene Heaven and Valley... plus any of the ones in the games you have.
