    Question Duron 1200 to Thoroughbred... Guide links plz..

    I have a rough idea on doing this, but require a little more information, has anyone on hear sucessfully modeed a duron to a thoroughbred? Also how is the best way to do it and using what materials?

    You can only do the 'Appalbred to Thoroughbred' mod with the Duron 1400, 1600 and 1800. The Durons from 1 to 1.3GHz were based on the .18 micron 'Morgan' core which only has 64KB of L2 cache on the die. There were a few 'Morganino' chips which were Palominos with some of the cache disabled, but these are rare AFAIK.

    Post the stepping code of your chip and I'll tell you if it's possible.

    You could post a WCPUID or CPU-Z screenshot if you don't want to yank the processor out of your computer.
