Re: New build boot - loop :(
Sounds like you've tried pretty much everything, have you tried powering it up with just one stick of RAM - I had a similar problem with it powering down before POST and it was badly seated RAM - could be a faulty or damaged slot?
I'd also check there's nothing shorting on the board (front and back)
Re: New build boot - loop :(
Could be the Bios. Have you reset the CMOS ?
Re: New build boot - loop :(
Yes tried one RAM piece, as well as a stick of new RAM too.
I\'m sure the RAM is properly seated, made sure to push down properly. Could well be a damaged slot though. Any idea if it should still boot up a bit better without RAM inside?
I removed the Mobo from the case and put it on the floor on a anti-static bag, would that take care of shorting? also are there other ways to check for shorting?
sorry for all the questions
Re: New build boot - loop :(
I believe so, remove the battery connection from the Mobo for about 30 secs - 1 min. Also touched the two jumper pins with a screw driver too - that\'s what I read somewhere online for the jumpers.

Better on an old cardboard box. Those bags are conductors to dispel any static charge, so may possibly create a short.
Sounds like a corrupt BIOS though.
Gigabyte boards have a dual BIOS, so there may be a switch to move to the backup. I can see the two chips on the pics opf the mobo, but no switch. Maybe try this method ?

Re: New build boot - loop :(
Try another PSU?? Haswell and Skylake have low power states which have been known to have issues with certain PSUs.
Re: New build boot - loop :(
Many thanks guys, It was the RAM, I thought I had it the right way round and seated properly. Installing Win 10 as we speak.
