As the memory controller is now intergrated into the CPU it runs at the same speed as the CPU. Memory requests are now sent at the CPU speed, on a 64/128 wide bus, according to the number of memory channels. There is no more link between the clock generator and the memory. The memory clock is obtained from the CPU clock, divided by a factor that depends on the memory specifications. So a 2.2 Ghz chip divides by about 11 for 200 Mhz Ram.
