Nvidia Shield as 4K Plex server and player
I've been reading that the Nvidia Shield is a quite capable budget media player so I'm wondering if anyone has tried using it for 4K plex playback?
I'm actually looking to use it as both a server and a player so that devices that require transcoding get a reasonable playback.
Also does anyone have much experience with the shield in general?
Has the app support got any better?

I don't know anybody who has one. Seems like an odd device to act as a server.

Well the Shield is a berry capable device, if your media is is H.264, H.265 or MPEG 2, it will do hardware decoding. if you are plaining to use an usb drive it would only be able to use it as a read-only unless you root you Shield.
Those are basically the only 2 thing you could get and inconvenient for the rest, it has plenty of power as a Plex server.
