BIOS on motherbaords

So, if a motherboard was released in early/middle of 2004. How old the bios would i expect to find? Hope it is not confusing.

What ever revision was available at the time?

How about some more information ie motherboard make and model

Motherboard make is Chaintech and it is VNf3-250
i have seen it is plagued by bios problems. My motherboard came recently(20th jan 2005) bough from pcw.

Whatever was the current release when your particular board was manufactured.

i am a bit scared of flashing a bios myself.

Well unless you are experiancing any problems it's probably best to leave it really if your not too sure..It's not that hard, just extract to a floppy, put it in and boot with it and it does the rest, clear the cmos with the jumper and reset your settings and your done, your only risk is power loss during flashing but chances of that are slim. There probably also is a windows version but if it was to crash during flash again your up a creak so to speak

The bios was released on the 19th of november do you think it will allready be in the mobo.
well the biod does have cool n quiet

Easiest way to see is re-boot and go into setup (del or f10 maybe?) and it will tell you the version and date, it will say it briefly as you boot but may not stay on screen for very long, usually MB's sitt about for a while so quite likely doesn;t have the latest
