    Columbia II Motherboards

    Hi all
My mates going to a shuttle and taking his P4 2.5 chips with him.

His old pc (packard bell about 2 years old) he's selling on. He brought a celeron D 2.4 and it don't work! Is the cpu too goood for the motherboard?, seems strange that a p4 will work and a celeron won't or is it because of the "D"

    Cheers All

iirc the celly d is a 533mhz fsb based chip and so the old motherboards don't support it.

    2nd you sure he has a 2.5 4 ? iirc there is 2.0/2.4/2.6/2.8/3.0/3.2/3.4/3.6/3.8 p4's but no 2.5 ?

there were 2.5 gig p4's both 100fsb and 133fsb , he most probably has the 100fsb version and the packard bell is way too old for the prescott celly
