So I've used OCInside's lovely PID tool to check the CPU I have it what I ordered... and it is. Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0ghz Winchester.
But, are there any sites that can give me any more info, based on what is printed on the chip?
Cheers guys.

No. Nobody's ever proven a definite link between stepping and OCing success. The only way to find out how good it is is to slap it in a machine and OC the hell out of it I'm afraid.

With AMD64s a lot is down to the memory controller(s) in the individual chip.Originally Posted by jimborae

Show me any Tbred-B that won't do 2 gig. I know of one example in my long forum browsing career. I'm sure there are more, but they're not common.Originally Posted by jimborae

got the FSB @ 220 already so my 3500+ is running @ 2.4 Ghz nice and stable - The most important thing to release is that rave is right - steppings and revisions mean naff all as their are other "influencing" factors such as memory type, PSU type and stability and more.
Kez - I'll email you later the guide on how to get the firewall working with windows XP SP2 as the software will not load without a few updated dll files.
Another thing to note as well is that NCQ can be a bit flakey at the moment but reports are coming in that the latest beta bios (007) fixes this so I will test tonight after the football match
