    The nice thing is ATI dont use sillicon carbide for the package.. so it will be nice and easy to drill through

    The chips wernt there before I removed it.. but the card was dead from bending - where some pins of the package seperated from the pcb - which happened when overtightning a waterblock.

    Thats a great idea, i should have salvaged some parts from that Voodoo2 i chucked last year

    I tried that with an old 850 Duron. it was hard as nials! Tried drilling a hole in it but i hardly scratched it!

    yep, durons = sillicon carbide.. need a diamond tiped drill to get through thouse with any ease.. which I do acctually happen to make.. but im lazy... an r300 core is soo much rarer for keyrings (might be worth something on ebay?)
