Mixing AMD CPU with nVidia SLI for 3D Rendering

So i'm building a rig to get into 3D rendering. I've decided to use two GTX 780 Ti in SLI whilst i wait for the 1180 or Volta in early 2018.

Now i was going to match this with an Intel 7700K so i could render using both the GPUs and CPU. Then i saw the specs and price for the Ryzen 1800X.

The question is can i combine an AMD CPU with nVidia GPUS in SLI for faster rendering times. Or must i use an Intel CPU for this to work?

(Side note: Though do AMD mobos even allow SLI?)

Programs wise i'm using Daz3D and Reallussion IClone 6

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Choice of CPU doesn't matter, and yes, AMD mobos do allow SLI.
