Question Bios updates from within Windoze

Anyone do it? I only ever tried it only once, t'was quite some time ago, never again, catastrophic failure.

Ever since then I've relied on the trusty floppy & done it during boot and there's neve been a prob. However I was interested to find out if it was considdered safer these days?

Just make sure you have the correct version of ASUSUpdate for your bios flash (the required version number will be below bios flash at the download site). I did mine on Saturday using ASUSUpdate, it is simple, I d/loaded the file to hdd then flashed from there to minimise any chance of corruption as opposed to updating from the net.

    Cheers

I do it all the time and never had a problem - just make sure everything is closed or it wont load.
