    Where to BUY opteron Servers

Guys, I need help, i might have just wangled the chance to get a dual opteron server for work. However i now need to justify costs, do you know where you can buy prebuilt 2xx operton servers and for what prices.

I think i can build myself for much lower costs but need to justify this against at least 2 other quotes.

    Anyone able to help?

    Thanks

    Exactly...
    Warranty? what warranty?

Also it would cost a bomb to get it covered by a 3rd party for replace/fix as they would have to get the same kit in to honour there contract.

I hate to say it(I have a dual XP rig at home and I love it...) stick with intel just now until the opteron sales get better and push the market for server pricing down.= then get a prebuilt opteron server from HP/Compaq (like that'l ever happen!) or Dell.

    Perry,

I disagree... I don't think AMD is going to allow a vendor who sells pre-built Opteron servers to skim on the service and support. It is in AMD's interest to make sure that the vendor has all the tools and support from AMD to backup any their needs. Otherwise, it is just poor 'brand management' and all the effort would be wasted.
