About LinkBacksIm such a dumb ass just got some new parts in the post put them together in my case. Then realised that my powersuply unit is too old to even connect it to the mobo. Now i have to wait 2/3 weeks before i can even turn it on......... Boo Hoo.

old AT power supply?
LoL, that's going to be a serious preformance improvment if he's going from a PC with an AT powersupply to a current PC
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
its an ATX but not an ATX 2.0 and the power cable thing that plugs into the mobo isnt big enough if u know wat i mean but it does fit just doesnt take up all the pin things. Will it work anyways though?

my mobo is Asus A8N-SLi nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard and my PSU is like some wierd make tis fairly old but is ATX well says ATX on the side?

You have a 20 pin connector and a 24 pin socket on the board.
You can get 20 to 24 pin converters, however you should just be able to plug the thing in anyway - missing out the four pins at the bottom. That's what I'm going to do with mine.

One other question mate i dont actually havea GPU installed yet i cant afford it for like 2 weeks and my old GPU is agp and the mobo only has PCI and PCIe can i actually like the monitor in anyway like through the mobo sorry for my stupidity?

I don't know if old PCI cards will work in these new mobos. Has anyone ever tried?

Just because it fits doesn't mean you PSU has enough juice, however.
And no - the motherboard has no onboard grahpics adapter

Ahh fair enough thanks for being so much help mate really apreciate it. One more question though if the PSU doesnt have enough juice will that damage my components?

I just bought a 939 mobo, new ram, new processor, new PSU... But no PCI-e graphics card... Currently applying for an egg card
If your PC is trying to draw more power from your PSU than your PSU can handle, you stand a good chance of damaging your components. Before the PSU dies that is. Don't skimp on your PSU, you'll regret it
