    Question HDMI 2.0 to DisplayPort 1.2 (60Hz)

    Morning,

I have three Dell 4k monitors that only supports 3840x2160 @ 60Hz using DisplayPort 1.2. Looking at the MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X, it only has 2 x DisplayPorts and 2 x HDMI ports.

Would a HDMI (2.0 capable from GFX Card) to DisplayPort (On Monitor) cable still allow 3840x2160 @ 60Hz?

    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Re: HDMI 2.0 to DisplayPort 1.2 (60Hz)

Silly MSI for changing the third DP for HDMI 2.0 as even the F's Edition models came with 3xDP 1.4 and 1 x HDMI 2.0b. I'd guess HDMI is more marketable despite DP being better as show on just about every thread about ThinkPads or EliteBooks on HUKD having someone complaining they don't have HDMI.

A quick google says that there are no adapters available with the thread on Club3D asking for the opposite of their DP<>HDMI 2.0 adapter being from this April

There was a post saying it's most likely not going to happen

    Hi All,

Sorry about that, indeed this is not the threat for HDR topic :-S

Unfortunately i have no new info on HDMI2.0 to DP1.2 Adapter. The situation is unchanged and still no availability on chipset to make this product.
There have been some suggestions on ANX7688 chipset, however this tested by R&D and this chipset is not suited for this, so that project has been closed.
I do not have any info that a suitable chipset will be available anywhere soon …
After a chipset becoming available it will take at least 4 months before a product can be introduced into the market. So time-wise i do no expect any such product within the next 5 to 6 months
