Has anyone had dealings with WhisperTec recently?

I'm waiting for a final delivery on fans from them - it's a tad late, and the telephone number I got through to a week ago is now disconnected.

I bought two 120mm fans from them last Friday 04 January 2005, they arrived Saturday morning by recorded delivery. I spoke to Mark at Whispertec twice last Friday and everything was okay - I ordered online after speaking to him. It's strange you're having a problem. I was extremely happy with the fans as they performed way beyond my expectation and Mark seemed a really knowledgeable guy.

[Edit]: Just checked my credit card online and the money was taken on 06 January. No issues there so the company was functioning until at least last weekend.

I received 3 of my 4 fans last Friday, with a handwritten note to say that the last one would follow this Monday gone, and nothing has arrived. I hope the guys okay, and that nothing bad's happened - it's only a £5 fan after all, but it's a bit wierd that the telephone number is now unobtainable.

As a side note, my 'Luxotop120' arrived as an unbranded fan - on it's spindle a single white sticker with a couple of handwritten numbers on it. No factory ratings, or printed specs/voltages, nothing - so I hope this 'Luxotop' does as it's meant to when I fire her up tomorrow..

I would be a bit concerned that your other fan has not arrived and that the number is unobtainable. It doesn't look too good as the guy who runs Whispertec did seem like a top bloke. Like you, I hope the guy is okay and nothing bad has happened.

Okies.. All should be sorted.

Spoke to Mark today, and he said the stock had been delayed by a week, and the phoneline was down for a day of two whilst BT fixed a fault..

I should get a package in the post tomorrow, which is grand - so Whispertec are still alive and kicking - even if the guy has had 'man flu' - and we know how bad that can be.. lol <panic off>


EDIT: The Luxotop R120 (unbranded beastie), IS quiet, and does appear to do it's job. My case temps aren't fantastic as I'm on stock case fans at the mo, but the Winnie 3500+ seems to be idling at around 35deg, which is fair, and I'll let you know how the loads/overclocking goes...
