I have many mat and I love that...
razer exactmat on the smoother side
Well, something bizarre has happened since I've been using a mouse mat for a few weeks. The surface of the mouse mat has higher friction than my desk surface. A couple of days ago I started noticing pain in my left hand, along the little finger and side of my left hand. Now, the way I've used a mouse all my life is with my left hand but configured as a regular right-handed mouse - in other words I don't swap the buttons over in software.
I noticed it was taking more effort to glide the mouse over the mouse mat, whereas on my desk surface the mouse glides with very little effort. I can't say for sure that it's the mouse mat since I've also had man-flu for a week causing general body aching, but this specific numb pain seems to be present when holding the mouse. So, I've ditched the mouse mat for now to see whether the pain goes away.
Perhaps I need to find a very smooth mouse mat - maybe something like a glass surface? If anyone can recommend one then I'd be interested.
Useful thread, I've just bought:

Me!
I really like my Razer Goliathus mat (25cm x 35cm), which is still in perfect condition after 2 years of gaming.
I'm using a QCK++Heavy. it's super long and probably too long in length tbh. If i were to buy again, i'd go for the regular sized QCK+ Heavy.
I'm using one of those full desk mouse pads, it feels great and I get very little dust sticking to the bottom of my mouse.
Still do.
