    Inspiron 17R N7110 spare parts?

As per title title, I have a dell Inspiron 17R N7110, which died on me. I suspect power board, as plugging the charger into the laptop kills the blue light on they cable, until I unplug from laptop & wall, remove fuse then plug it back into the wall. Light appears... Until I plug into the laptop etc. Laptop was on & working when it suddenly died. I suspect a short circuit somewhere.

Now, as an engineer it is my duty to fiddle with it until the wife looses patience and bins it behind my back!

Does anyone know where I might find parts for a 6 year old dell laptop? I have it fully dismantled (I even have something of the screws still) , and the ac socket itself looks good dead easy to swap out as a start, or small, cheapy and accessible. I figure it must be worth a punt if I can find someone who stocks parts?

    Thanks

First port of call, pull the battery and see what effect that has.
Look for damage on the power brick, esp the cable ends.

Does sound like it's ether the power brick or the VRM circuit, if it's the VRM then that's pretty much new mainboard time, which is a) a pig to do and b) probably not worth the money and better off getting a new laptop.

quick google here you are £300 https://ithardwaregroup.co.uk/part-n...10-laptop.html

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Q17R doesn't bring up anything on google, so assuming it's the same thing as the 17R then £150 gets you a spare everything:

Thanks guys, I'll scavenge what I can from it....hard drives & ram and recycle the rest. Not worth throwing good money at it just because. Thanks for the suggestions,
