Open up task manager and have a look which process is maxing out your CPU.
You sure your rig hasn't been zombied by a crypto-mining botnet?
Chances are there'll be one tab that has an advert that is hitting your CPU. Sometimes it's just badly coded flash or js, but it might be something malicious like a hidden mining script (yes, there are javascript crypto-miners in the wild which advertisers can inject into webpages fairly easily, without the website owner colluding, or potentially even knowing).
If you're using Chrome, you can actually pull up Chrome's own task manager which will give you information about what each tab is doing. It should be easy to identify which tab is to blame.
I've found that Google Hangouts is a memory hog.
I had a similar problem with cpu usage every time i visited a particular forum, but i added no coin to my browser and the issue disappeared.
I have a similar problem with my Chrome, sometimes shows 100% CPU usage. I am in the middle of investigating
I am not sure. How do i check crypto-mining botnet?
