Building a new computer! What do you think of this setup...

I assume you're using an old case, PSU, hard drive(s), optical drives(s) and graphics card?

What PSU are you intending to use? You need to make sure it's a decent one - there's no point risking your computer just to save a few pounds. Decent brands include Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake, Tagan.

Also, I will need a new video & sound card, and a case to put it all into. Looking to spend around £600 in total for the system. It will mainly be used for video editing, so I guess the video card would need to be fairly good?

I have all a HD and the disc drives already yeah.

how much are you paying for the RAM? You can get Geil value RAM which runs at CAS 2.5 for about £95-100 for 1GB.

I dunno much about that case, havent heard great things though tbh

with regards to video editing, it is more cpu dependent. The Pentium 4 is best for video editing though :)

I would be inclined if I were you to get a better branded psu with a slightly higher wattage. Although I haven't heard seasonic I may be mistake, but It may be worth spending some extra cash on a tagen 420w/480w or an antec true power 380w/420w. I think other will agree, If you are going to spend money a computer like that, then it's imperitive that you have a good quality psu first.

Essentially though, I'd like to know if anyone's had any experience of puuting together a similar system, and if these bits will work well together, or if I should change something.
