Building a Cinema 4D etc workstation
Hey,
So my PC (see specs on my profile) is long overdue an upgrade.
I work alot in video production and 3D recently, so looking to make things rather speedy.
What I want to check on is whether this is a good build for the purpose or not?
GPU Rendering will be a key need too.
AMD Ryzen 2700x
Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB (16GB) 3000Mhz
Asus X470 Prime Pro
Asus Turbo GTX1080
Hard drives are already fine in the current build. Another question, would my PSU be fine for the above still?
That is a - EVGA Super NOVA 850W
Thanks loads!
Re: Building a Cinema 4D etc workstation
AFAIK,the design aspects are meant to be more lightly threaded in Cinema4D,but any CPU based video encoding will probably scale better with cores for high quality stuff.
Also, avoid Corsair RAM for Ryzen due to the version lottery.

If you're CPU rendering, then I'd put serious consideration into a Threadripper (which depends on your budget). Rendering loves threads, and Threadripper is a smidge cheaper than Intel the last time I checked.
