Question Is this an okay gaming pc for $700?

I was searching around to see what kind of PC I could build for 700 bucks and came across this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Z3wgnH. To be completely honest I have never built a PC before and not totally convinced on this build. Are there any parts you would swap out? I am not really sure where to start

Power supply is nice. The 3GB version of the 1060 can be a problem though as you really want at least 4GB, better to have a 6GB version or an RX 580.

That could cost a bit more, but swapping the hard drive for a 7200rpm model and not bothering with the small SSD should free up some money, maybe go quad core.

Which games are you intending to play, and what monitor resolution?

    What I would get:

    Core i5 8400 ~ $165 after promo code

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-824-_-Product

    8GB 3000MHZ DDR4 ~ $90

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-935-_-Product
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-769-_-Product

    Gigabyte B360 motherboard ~ $77

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-065-_-Product

Has some VRM cooling which is important.

    Corsair CX500 ~ $25 after $20 rebate card

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-027-_-Product

    Team Group L5 Lite 120GB ~$30

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-047-_-Product

    Toshiba P300 1TB ~$47

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-631-_-Product

A 7200RPM HDD which is much quicker than the 5400RPM in the original list.

    Gigabyte Aorus RX570 4GB ~$240

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...65&ignorebbr=1

More VRAM than the GTX1060 3GB which will be useful for longevity.

    EVGA DG-73 ~$40

    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16811205031

    Usually around $90

On top of this you will need to include a copy of Windows 10 too.

The picture does not include the code for the Core i5 8400 discount.

The total is $733.78 plus you will get $20 back from that once you use the rebate card for the PSU.

Thats a sweet PC for the money, only thing is i would personally save up a little more and get the 1060 6GB £50 more for better minimum frames and looks like 10fps better in some games and that is a lot when your going from 30-40fps.
