I'm looking for a replace 'really quiet' fan solution for the EPIA MII-12000 motherboard?
I'm open to sugestions for fan only and/or heatsink/fan changing solutions.
Thanks

the venus 668 case came with some 40mm 22dba fans which are quieter than the stock 25dba 40mm fans. (i've got a spare one if you want one as i don't use them)
alternatively you can take the heatsink / fan off and replace it with an AMD Zalman copper flower heatsink without the fan. (my m2-12000 is completely silent now because of this).

Thanks for the offer - I would like to take you up on that. Let me know how to proceed on that.Originally Posted by joshwa
Is the Zalman you mention one of these examples?

Someone mentioned using The Zalman NB47J Silent Motherboard Heatsink (see links below). This also appeals to me, however, the website has stated it is suitable for MII-10000, but I wanted to use it for the MII-12000.

What do you think?
the m2-10000 and m2-12000 have exactly the same board design and heatsink solution, just a different cpu chip - so the zalman nb47j would work perfectly well on both chips - the difference in heat produced by the 1ghz and 1.2ghz will be very minimal.
pm me your address and i'll post a fan out to you - do you want 3pin (which connects to motherboard) or 4pin which connects to powersupply?

Thanks for your advice. I'm going to take the plunge and buy a M2-12000.Originally Posted by joshwa

I meant to ask, is it possible to reduce the clock speed on the M2-12000 to 1Ghz or less?
If so do you normally do this through changing a bios setting?
not that i know of - i haven't tried. there was something in win-cpu-id which let you change the multiplyer :/Originally Posted by milanlad
