How faster would the new RTX series need be to justify the price??

We know the RTX series is more expensive than the preceding cards,but if you were willing to pay the new pricing tier what percentage performance increase in normal games would you expect?? So exclude ray tracing.

Remember the RTX2080TI looks around 50% more expensive than the GTX1080TI,and so is the GTX2080 when compared to the GTX1080.

It all depends on the game, resolution, and of course there's RTX which looks fantastic.

For me it's not really about speed, it's about what new things I could do with the card that I couldn't do before. Speed is one factor in that, but it's not the only one. At time of writing, there's nothing meaningful that I can see the card can do that I couldn't have before, therefore there's no justification for me getting one at any price

It could be a Cray super computer as far as I care. It's still too much money to spend on single component for the purposes of playing computer games.

They are recommending a 650w psu as a minimum. If you're planning to build in the near future that is something to think about.

For me, it would have been cool for them to beat current performance lowering tdp.

Nothing new here, they always recommend connecting directly to the output of a nuclear power plant for the best experience.
