Steelseries Mouse Profiles?

I've given my Brother a Kana V2 mouse and he says that he can only save profiles to either Hardrive or Cloud Sync , is that correct as i thought you could save button and LED profiles to the mouse itself?

I have the Rival 100 and for me when i save a profile it saves directly to my HDD and the cloud and the current profile that is in use is also saved on to the mouse itself so the dpi and light settings would be the same if you plugged into a different computer

Apparently you can get a driverless mouse like the Zowie that you can setup the with button clicks on the mouse itself.
