    What are you upgrading from??

Even the £80 to £90 Ryzen 3 2200G with cheaper RAM is significantly faster if using the onboard graphics than more expensive Intel CPUs:

Intel integrated graphics is not that great in comparison TBH.

The Core i5 8400 is faster than the 2200G/2400G on the CPU side though, but its a £130.

The CPUs above that on the AMD side like the Ryzen 5 2600 are faster still, but lack any form of integrated graphics:

The Ryzen 5 2600 is currently £142 from Amazon:

A note from your list, you have *only* the Windows licence & media as coming from CCL. It's been a few years, but last time I bought and OEM Windows licence part of the MS conditions is that it has to be purchased with computer hardware so you might find they are unable to sell it to you unless you order hardware from them (a cheap mouse used to be the minimum). Perhaps try and buy that first, if you already have everything else you would have to buy some hardware you don't need to get the OEM licence!

You can buy it without hardware these days

Also, if i decided to go micro atx, what board would you recommend? I may buy a cheap case and go that route instead.

The list looks OK AFAIK. If you don't mind going for an SSD using no DRAM,the Crucial BX500 500GB is on offer:

    https://www.hotukdeals.com/search?q=BX500

This Acer monitor is a bit cheaper:

This LG monitor has FreeSync but uses a TN panel:

Thanks Cat. I guess 27" is a no go? TN would be fine for gaming?

    Re: Itx build help

Just one thing I'd say looking at the build list - you've chosen an OEM license for Win10 which will (as far as I know, assuming it's like previous Windows licenses) remain tied to that one motherboard. A retail license isn't much more at £120 and that £30 is worth it for the ability to use through upgrades in the future IMHO.

27" adds more to the build cost, so it's just how much that is worth to you. Some people like 27", some people don't like the bigger pixels or don't have the space. It's a personal thing between you and your wallet If you want 27" with Freesync then you are looking at something like this at £145 https://www.ebuyer.com/865085-lg-27m...tor-27mk430h-b

TN is fine for gaming. Gaming monitors tend to be either TN or expensive. Not that it is anywhere near as important as it used to be when TN panels had awful colours and IPS panels smeared on movement they all seem pretty good these days.

If you have an old TV with VGA to use for now you could try and pick something up in the black friday sales which should start popping up soon.

TN is probably the best suited for gaming, but VA and IPS panels are better for viewing angles and image editing.

If your not using it for any professional visual work TN is fine and you'll get used to how it looks anyway. Just make sure you play around with the monitors colour options for a good amount of time its worth the effort.
