    Unhappy Right-hand side windowed case

My Argos PC desk is constructed in such a way that the space for the case is on the left. My Zalman Z9 case's windowed side is on the left too, which means I cannot see all the Disco lighting inside my case.

Can anyone recommend me a PC case where the windows side is actually on the right. I am after a perspex / glass window and airflow must be as good as my Zalman.

    Tnx

My be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 can be orientated in both ways, perhaps that can be an option?

Would a new desk be cheaper than a new case?

    Re: Right-hand side windowed case

In most cases, the right side of the case would only show you the back of the motherboard which really isn't that nice to look at and is where many people try to hide their cables to make the left side look neater.

    Maybe get a cheap mirror?

Or turn off the lighting and build a separate light display where you can see it - that way you can enjoy it without powering up the computer - win-win.

    Re: Right-hand side windowed case

Take a picture of the left hand side of the case, print it out, laminate and stick it to the right hand side.

Or better still, stick a picture of Rachel Riley. Who wants to look at PC components

    Re: Right-hand side windowed case

I'm in a similar situation - the arrangement of my desk and office means that my system unit can only really go on the left, so an inverted PC case with the window on the right is the only option if I want to see inside the system. Unfortunately inverted motherboard cases do tend to be expensive - I currently use a Silverstone FT-02 which is an old design but still available, but costs about £200. You could look at the Corsair 600C, which is £143; it has an acrylic side window though, which isn't as nice as the tempered glass a lot of cases use these days:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CC-...s=corsair+600c

There's a list of alternative inverted motherboard cases here:

Switch off the internal lights, and get some cheap christmas tree lights and adorn the case with them. Sorted.

    Re: Right-hand side windowed case

By sheer coincidence, I just watched a video review of the new Silverstone SST LD018 Lucid inverted motherboard case, which is £99. It is only MicroATX though:

What's with the hostile anti-lighting comments chaps ? With the amount of new RGB Lighting articles on Hexus, I thought everyone now has a plethora of lighting in their cases.

Really stupid question, what if I flipped the case ?

You'd need to either stand it upside down, or back to front.

The former would show off the usually very dull/ugly base of the case and potentially lead to some odd component placements (like optical drives at close-to-ground level). You'd also have to give careful consideration to the airflow, as most cases are set up to exhaust warm air out of the "top", which would now be the "bottom" in your case!

The latter would move all the "back" outputs of your case to the front. This might be good, if you find yourself running out of USB ports or regularly swapping monitors, but isn't very pretty, and would give you a mess of cables coming out of the "front" of the PC and trailing under the desk.

I can't see any real technical problem with either solution, though. You could always look at modding an existing windowed case (e.g. see if you can remove and swap the top and bottom panels)...
