    vantec stealth fans, any good?

Looking for some fans to replace my case fans with to try and quieten my pc. Anyone had any experience with these, any good?

    any alternatives?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

I hear they are good, though I have no first hand experience - possible alternatives are SilenX fans, Panaflo

Ive got 4x Vantec 80mms - they are alright - I use a fan controller to turn them at least half way down on each fan (<1000rpm) - doesnt do much a job cooling tbh. Ive heard better things about the Noiseblockers.

I've had a couple, they're not exactly silent so you'd need a fan controller to turn them down, but then the airflow's rubbish. If you want quiet fans, SilenX seem to be pretty good, I don't know about comparative airflow levels but they're very quiet.

bizaarely they are QUITER than panaflos I have! which in some ways is quite cool...but the panaflos weren't cheap so its a bit of a kick in the teeth

As a warning - panaflo do two types, one is louder than the other. A good cheap source is dorothy bradbury here:

    http://www.dorothybradbury.co.uk/

I've always found the quieter versions to be very quiet -the coolermaster ones are also extremely good (they're the ones I use in my case - cheap here: http://www.redstore.com/fx/inf_searc...ster&search=GO)

Akasa ones tend to be terrible.
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Installed one of the Vantec Stealth 120mm fans in a comp recently.....coupled with the Hiper 425W silent fan, it was virtually impossible to tell if it was on. Was only really noticeable when the CD span up.
Amazingly quiet, and not bad value either....although that was the 120mm, can't speak for the 80 or 92mm versions, but I would hope that they're not too different.

    Actually three types:

L1A - low noise, low airflow

    M1A - Medium..

    H1A - Higher...

Having said that, I have an 80mm H1A in the ICE cooler of my Shuttle and it never comes out of low-speed mode, so it's always pretty quiet.

Globe, Whispertech and Nexus are fantastic for low noise and attaining a reasonable airflow
