saw this and thought "i wonder if that still runs ata100/133 and doesn't kinda lag out the ide controller.."
does it?
and also is there any other 3/4/+ IDE cables, sold in the UK please.
Also does anyone own one of these?

or is it just a cable for a controller card?

It's useless if it really is a 3 device cable because controllers have only primary and secondary disk capability. IDE controllers simply can't control more then 2 devices per connector. It could be for a custom controller I guess but I've never seen one.
It may work if you had a tape drive that could use part of the IDE interface (data transfer stuff) without interfering with the drive controller portion of the cable, but that's a stretch I think.

yeh thats what i thought, you can only have primary and secondary channels... this is probably just for a IDE/SATA controller card like a similar site that I found... Pity you can't have like Secondary Master/Slave on each channel. That way you could have 8 devices. I know some motherboards like the Soyo KT333 Dragon Ulra Platinum had 3 IDE channels...

Yeah I've seen these at computer fairs, never thought about them really...just assumed you put your drives on cable select and it worked, but I am prob wrong!
