Pricecheck - Microserver with 5 x WD Red 3Tb
Hi folks
Firstly: apologies if pricechecks are no longer allowed, I had a search and the most pertinent post (granted, that was by Agent and was a while ago) pointed me to post in this channel.
This box was my media server and backup box for quite some time, but I'm freeing up desk space and realised that I've not used it in... nigh on 3 years. I'm pondering flogging it, but I'm not sure if anyone these days uses this kinda kit, and if so what kinda price it'd fetch.
I'm not going to eBay, had too many fallouts with them - ideally I'll end up selling it to someone with a project in mind and I can then put a little cash towards a second LG 27UK850W (as my beloved Dell 2709W bit the dust this morning).
Full spec - HP N40l Microserver, 16Gb RAM (not ECC), 5 x WD30EFRX (one connected over an eSATA loopback into the optical bay), 1 x Crucial M4 64Gb SSD, a little dust.

I tell a lie, RAM *is* ECC (and is this kit)

No ideas? Curses, I guess I just take a punt and stick it in the For Sale tomorrow.

You’d probably get more money overall if you sold maybe 3 of the 5 drives separately. I know it’s a hassle, but the drives are worth more individually. Selling the server with 2 drives that people could use in RAID1 is still a sensible purchase for most people who want either a NAS or an ESXi host.
