For fantastic deals, you either get overstocked tat that can't be shifted and is clogging the channel; or you're being mislead on the base price.
That said, there are good deals out there, but no more so than Boxing Day or any other sale period. I found the Amazon one increasingly poor value. Comparing with historical prices is a must. I got a good price on a monitor last year, but looking now it doesn't seem to be available any more so probably running off stock.
Year before I managed to get a discount on a camera, and combining that with an ongoing cash-back promotion and the sell of my current camera meant I got a fantastic steal, but that was more of a perfect storm than black-friday.
